Airco & KXAN Help Seniors Stay Cool

Wes Stearns, Retail Manager, presents $5,000 check to Family Eldercare at Fan Fare Friday.

Airco recently partnered with local news station KXAN to help low income seniors keep cool this summer through the Family Eldercare’s annual Summer Fan Drive. Airco’s employees raised $2500 and our parent company, Direct Energy, matched what we raised to donate a total of $5,000!

The Summer Fan Drive meets a critical basic need – relief from life-threatening heat for those who do not have or cannot afford a fan or air-conditioning. For 24 years, the Fan Drive has served low-income seniors, adults with disabilities and families with children.

Funds raised during the Summer Fan Drive go to purchase fans for individuals and families who need help to beat the summer heat, to connect vulnerable people with important resources, and to support Family Eldercare’s non-profit core services.

Every year KXAN helps promote collections and donations to provide box-fans to Family Eldercare and Airco is proud to be a KXAN exclusive “Austin Expert” for Air Conditioning.
